![]() Krishnan Nair had told the story of an untouchable girl and brought up the issue of untouchability within the story in a sensible way. On the whole i found the film entertaining and I'm glad that someone like M. Sukumari is alright but in some scenes she does border on caricaturing the character. Prem Nazir himself makes his presence felt in a woman-oriented film and Ambika is adorable as Indhumathi. She and Prem Nazir share a lovely chemistry. She doesn't cry buckets full and nor does she remain in a passive day- dreaming state. Sheela beautifully plays her part by balancing her emotions. The songs are beautiful, some melodious and some foot-tapping. Though I must say the ending is quite predictable. The romance angle between Ravivarmma and Malathy fit very nicely into the screenplay and it avoids clichés such as the cousin falling in love with Ravivarmma or a bloodbath ending. I do think he could have developed some scenes further as they looked choppy towards the end. In 'Collecter Malathy' he cleverly represents how society treats untouchables without making the viewer feel as though he were having a history lesson or watching a documentary and he manages to show the film as Malathy's story. ![]() I liked that M Krishnan Nair managed to bring the issue of the untouchables through his story without making the message in your face (such that it might overshadow the story). ![]() If Nintendo are publishing, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 PC will never happen, and probably won't be re-released on another Nintendo console either. ![]() ![]() They've let GoldenEye die rather than allow it to be re-released, they've gone after ROM sites with a fervour, and make mad YouTube demands so people can't even watch gameplay videos of Nintendo titles now. Nintendo, on the other hand, are far more skittish about allowing their games on other systems. It's a similar situation to Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4, which was directly funded and published by Sony - except that Sony have proven willing to let their exclusives come to PC, even if it's just via PlayStation Now. Had no problem besides too much clicking in order to set the game to 3840 x 2400 60 Hz and the UI scales perfectly. Patches could maybe fix the games up but sheesh, this is a sorry launch even for Activision. The first game launched on PC alongside consoles in 2006 but the 2009 sequel never made it over until now. This means that, sadly, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will not come out on PC. I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor and it immediately chose 1920 x 1200 60 Hz, High Settings and VSync On when I first launched the game. Its especially a shame because this is the first time Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 has been released on PC. Why? Because Nintendo are publishing it themselves, and presumably funding it. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance has been altered for the Game Boy Advance port and has become a side-scrolling. Unfortunately, the announcement trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 makes it clear that it's a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Marvel Ultimate Alliance PC ports face complaints. Skip to main content Due to a planned power outage on Friday, 1/14, between 8am-1pm PST, some services may be impacted. That's what we want for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 - if it's a licensed console exclusive it'll be dead and gone within 3 years. This is the Original copy of Marvel's Ultimate Alliance on PC from 2006.The original Copy is pretty rare nowadays since the terrible Remaster came and went. The previous two Marvel Ultimate Alliance games took years to appear on PC, and only finally turned up in 2016 - they've sadly been delisted due to licensing issues, but anyone who bought them on PC can play them forever. Xbox 360 and PC with plans to potentially port it to Nintendo's then new Wii U. Will There Be a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 PC Version? These are fairly generic winter gloves, all leather on the outside, but with a bit of a modern twist because they do include a waterproof and breathable membrane. There’s not much I can say about technology here. ![]() So let’s take a look at the Olympia Ultima I gloves… The Ultima I gloves really do look and feel and even function very similar to the Held Freezer gloves from Part 2 of our Winter 2008 (and now 200) comparison review.Įxcept the Helds cost about $30.00 more, which may or may not be a factor, depending on your point of view. ![]() The Ultima I gloves seemed like the most basic style of heavy-duty winter motorcycle glove that Olympia (and just about every other motorcycle glove manufacturer) has been making for eons.īesides, the price is right, and I thought it would be interesting to see how they compared to the similar Held Freezer gloves. We already reviewed the Olympia 4150 Gore-Tex gloves last year, and the Olympia Commander gloves before that. The truth of the matter is that I suggested the Ultima I gloves pretty much on a whim. And as sure as you’re reading this, someone will send an email asking why we didn’t review the Olympia “Cold Throttle” or “Weatherking” or “Prima” or some other selection from Olympia’s Gore-Tex, All-Season or Winter categories. Like these Ultima I gloves, which are listed for both snowmobile and motorcycle use. The company has been around forever and they do have a reputation to maintain, so the gloves should do the job and last longer than many of the no-name brands.īesides motorcycling, Olympia also makes gloves for snowmobiling, ATV use and even skiing - although some of the glove models show up in more than one category. Olympia’s niche is what I’d sum up as “lots of decent gloves at bargain prices”. An exaggeration, of course, but not by much. You could probably wear a new pair of Olympia gloves every day for the next year without working your way through their product line.Īnd by time you did, they’d probably have a completely new assortment ready and waiting. They’ll keep you warm and dry, but they’re pretty bulky. I know I said I'm sour and I am, but I'm also thinking about the up and comers and how crushing of a blow it would be to lose your equipment in this manner. The bargain of the bunch at a street price of $68.00, the Olympia Ultima I gloves are similar in many ways to the Held Freezer gloves. In the end I have tons of ingots and am otherwise financially well off. I don't get squat out of it anymore and I used to get pulls of ten or more val on a regular basis. I'm talking I kill them in one minute or less which is a big deal because I swear to jesus that verite vein outside my has been nerfed or something. Valorite eles go down in a hurry to dexers, whereas it takes two tamers 30 minutes to kill one. I often times use prospectors tools and garg pixes in conjunction with one another (which was the +3 incident) but even if I'm hitting a verite vein I actually want to use a garg pick to spawn a valorite elemental so that I may get an easy 25 extra valorite out of the deal (+5 incident). Also there isn't a town one screen from my house.ģ. Mining in town is not an option for a number of reasons, chiefly that there aren't many good veins in town. +5 gloves were also at full repair when they were destroyed. I had never received one single hp of damage with my +3 gloves and they were destroyed the very first hit. Ore elementals can destroy fully repaired armor/weapons in one shot. I had been playing just long enough to have seen enough to know how much else there was to see, but not long enough to have seen it yet. ![]() It was this palpable weight on my mind, this knowledge that it was all going away. I remember how much pressure I felt two years ago to see everything in WoW before Cataclysm changed it all. I don’t really have much else to say about Cataclysm I had fun, I had frustrations, I’m glad it’s done.Īnd I’m left wondering why Gnomebliteration never became a daily quest. There was a lot of good work, and the game of Warcraft itself is still enjoyable, but I just haven’t found Cataclysm content compelling. It was so close to being good, in so many places, but the execution was off. Yes, there were plenty of quality of life improvements which made the game more enjoyable to play – vast UI improvements, transmogging, revamped old content, flight almost everywhere – but many missed opportunities for making the game fun. I’ve come to accept that I don’t think Cataclysm was a very good expansion. Would we have gotten bored of crushing cursed gnomes? Maybe. There were a lot of almost-rights, of things which were just a bit off, of things which didn’t quite flow enough to be fun. Instead of Gnomebliteration as a daily, we got Tol Barad and the Molten Front. Opportunities to create more fun weren’t capitalized upon. Many things were done right, but the things which were truly fun seemed to be shunted aside, fleeting moments. Wheeeee! roll down the steps, pick up more gnomes! It’s not a complicated mini-game, it’s a visceral one.Īnd to me, this quest seems to symbolize the problems of Cataclysm. Possibly the only real fun I’ve had in Uldum, once I get over how gorgeous the place is. ![]() What I do know is that, while rolling around a giant flaming ball of death on a quest I should have morally objected to for any good-aligned character, I had more fun than I’d had in the entire zone. Or did someone just not like the suggestion? Did this idea even get raised to the developers? Did it get serious attention? We’re there other priorities that kept it pushed down on a feature request list, or was it shot down for technical reasons? Was it deemed more important to keep it a unique part of leveling, one shot and you’re done on that toon? Development priorities are subject to a lot of different pressures, and I don’t subscribe to any A/B team conspiracy theories. That’s okay! It’s time to move on.Īnd I don’t think we, as players, will ever know why it didn’t happen. Gnomebliteration is never going to be a daily quest. There are less than two months before Mists thinking this should get changed now would be naive folly. Normally, when I write a post like this I have some kind of action that I’d like to argue for, some option or alternative to pursue. Players asked to do a quest again – that’s pretty high praise! The quest got a lot of positive feedback on the forums and on wowhead. It’s in a zone which only has two daily quests for reputation, both of which have different mechanics than normal play and the body count of an ’80s action movie, so killing cursed gnomes fits in with the theme of Uldum. You’ve got a quest which is popular and provides a fun little mini-game. I still think its morally repugnant, out of character for a lot of characters, and a hell of a lot of fun.īut at the end of Cataclysm I’m left wondering, why wasn’t this made into a daily quest? My opinion of the quest hasn’t changed since the last time I wrote about it. I killed a thousand gnomes for some red plate gloves. ![]() As the gear I wanted for my warrior was a reward from said quest of doom, I set aside my in-character brain for a bit and rolled a flaming ball of death over the doomed expedition. ![]() I was in Uldum tonight questing for some transmog gear when I came to everyone’s favorite mass-murder excused by a machine, Gnomebliteration. ![]() Also, completely unusable on nearly every Arduino. ![]() ![]() The cheapest result for "arduino camera" on .uk. Or an ESP8266 could stream the picture out of memory slowly over WiFi, in little 2 kB packets.Ī OV7670 module with a nice big lens on a pcb with a 2x9 header. A microcontroller can then access the picture slowly on a simple protocol, like SPI. The excellent ArduCam project is the logical conclusion to this, though it adds cost. So overall what's wanted is a camera module which has memory on it, and some high speed buffer to store each frame. There's also the option of using a more powerful device - a cheap raspberry PI zero can easily handle the data stream from a camera, but I'm wanting a lower power, even lower cost device than that. You're never gonna get a good image since it can't hold the whole frame at once. For slow moving objects this can work, but the microcontroller really can't do much else - even for a slow, 2MHz camera the ATmega328 is completely tied up while a line is being read - every 8 clock cycles a new byte of data comes in, and it takes at least 4 cycles to copy the data into ram, let alone synchronize with a data stream. I've done this with a simple old CMOS camera at 2 MHz and an Arduino (ATmega328p) - it could read one line, send it over serial, and then a frame or two later read the next line. Now there are options - you can look at only very small parts of an image, and ignore the rest. The third problem is that a lot of cameras need configuring before use, even if they have automatic modes for contrast, white balance, etc. The second problem is that most cameras need the data to be clocked out far quicker than cheap microcontrollers can process. The main problem is that a picture, even 640x480 (0.3 megapixels), is much larger than the ram on cheap microcontrollers. This is NOT about simply putting a remote shutter on a camera for a time lapse jig, this is about getting the data usefully out so a micro can use it. This should summarize the options available for getting a camera usefully connected to a microcontroller. ![]() Most newer books are in the original electronic format. GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) has signed a contract in October 2001 with CargoLifter Development GmbH in Brand, Germany, to power a fleet of new airships now under development in Germany. New materials, technologies, machinery as well as construction and manufacturing processes are turning the »flying cigar« of old into a modern high-tech means of transportation. CargoLifter reverts to approved solutions and existing know-how in its development and yet it is still treading new ground. And in order for the total weight and flight characteristics of the airship to remain constant, the freight will be exchanged with ballast water. 100 meters in midair, the load will be lifted and lowered via anchor winches and four anchoring points. Due to its unique crane construction, the CargoLifter can load and unload without landing. Helium is used as a non-flammable lifting gas. The CL 160 is being constructed as a semi-rigid keel airship with a working heavy-load crane integrated inside the keel. That is why CargoLifter has found its investors among many transport companies and industrial customers round the world. The expected cost of building one CL160 is about USD 60 million, which is roughly half the cost of a Boeing 747. ![]() ![]() The first prototype of CL160 is planned to take off the ground in 2003 and its serial production should start in 2004/2005. Each airship is powered by eight CT7-8L turboshaft engines. The CL160 Airship is 260 meters in length and is designed to carry oversized cargo weighing up to 160 metric tons, at a maximum height of 2,000 meters, non-stop over a range of several thousand kilometers. CL75 AC will be ready for commercial use in 2002/2003.ĬargoLifter is also pursuing the CL160 airship, which is capable of carrying outsized and heavy goods over long distances. It will be capable of carrying an 86-short-ton-payload in either a crane configuration or as a towed vehicle. The company's first product, the CL75 balloon-based system, has been in prototype flight test since October 2001. The basic concept behind CargoLifter rests on proven technology while at the same time taking advantage of technological progress by the use of the most modern materials available. CargoLifter, in other words, is a ship with the air as its ocean. The CargoLifter stays in the air even when the engines are turned off. An airplane which is heavier than air requires energy for both propulsion as well as for creating lift. Therefore, energy is only spent on the airship's forward propulsion. The weight of the cargo is compensated for by the lift of the gas. One cubic meter of helium can carry about one kilogram. The CargoLifter gains lift through the use of helium gas. CargoLifter is cooperating with a number of partners and potential users to further define and develop both markets and products. Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, CargoLifter AG has developed a unique capability to research, design, develop and produce airships and other lighter-than-air vehicles. ![]() The contract follows a Letter of Intent signed by the two companies in May 2002.ĬargoLifter AG, based south of Berlin in Germany, is developing lighter-than-air systems for logistics and other applications. Airships may be a suitable platform for such applications. Several governments have research and development activities focused on stratospheric platforms to support communications and surveillance requirements.
